Who was Sir John Lowther, 2nd Baronet, of Swillington?
Sir John Henry Lowther, 2nd Baronet was a Tory MP in the British Parliament. He was the eldest son of Sir John Lowther, 1st Baronet, whom he succeeded on 11 May 1844.
He represented Cockermouth 1816–1826, Wigtown Burghs 1826–1831, Cockermouth again 1831–1832, and York 1835–1847.
He died unmarried, and was succeeded by his brother Charles Hugh Lowther.
