Who was John Weir Foote?
John Weir Foote, VC, CD was a Canadian military chaplain and recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. Foote is the only member of the Canadian Chaplains' Services ever to be awarded the Victoria Cross.
