Who is Johnny Briggs?
John Edward Briggs is a former left fielder in Major League Baseball who played for the Philadelphia Phillies, Milwaukee Brewers and Minnesota Twins. He batted and threw left-handed.
Briggs played high school baseball at Eastside High School in Paterson, and moved on to Seton Hall.
In a 12-season major league career, Briggs posted a .253 batting average with 139 home runs and 507 RBI in 1366 games played. After his last season in MLB, he played one season in Japan for the Lotte Orions in 1976.
