His mother, Þuríður, was a direct descendant of Þóra Magnúsdóttir daughter of Magnus III of Norway a direct descendant of Harald Fairhair founder of the Fairhair dynasty the first royal dynasty of the united Norway, and a branch of the Ynglings.
