Joseph Henry Allen was a Unitarian scholar, born in Northborough, Massachusetts; graduated at Harvard College in 1840; and at the Divinity School in 1843. He was pastor at different places. He was the author of Hebrew Men and Times,; Christian History in its Three Great Periods, Early Christianity, The Middle Age, Modern Phases; Our Liberal Movement in Theology, chiefly as Shown in Recollections of the History of Unitarianism in New England; and Historical Sketch of the Unitarian Movement since the Reformation,.
