Who was Judah Moss Solomon?

Judah Moss Solomon was the Mayor of Adelaide from 1869 to 1871.

Solomon was born in London, England, and arrived in Sydney around 1831; he was educated at Sydney College.

Solomon was elected to the South Australian House of Assembly for the City of Adelaide on 16 September 1858, position he held until 12 March 1860. Solomon was then a member of the South Australian Legislative Council from 28 March 1861 to 28 August 1866; and from 14 December 1871 to 9 February 1875 he represented West Adelaide in the Assembly.

Solomon died of cancer in Adelaide, South Australia on 29 August 1880.
