Who is Kevin C. Almeroth?
Dr. Kevin Almeroth is a professor
at the University of California in Santa Barbara. His research interests
include computer networks and protocols, multicast communication,
large-scale multimedia systems, and performance evaluation. In addition
to his research activities Dr. Almeroth is an active participant
in several IETF working groups include the Multicast Directorate;
is on the IEEE Network Editorial Board; has helped manage multicast
for Networld+Interop as part of the NOC team; is a Senior Technologist
for the IP Multicast Initiative; is the multicast working group
chair for Internet2; and is a member of the IETF Multicast Directorate
(MADDOGS). Almeroth has been working on multicast since it was first
deployed in the Internet in 1992. He has been one of the leaders
helping to drive the evolution of multicast particularly in the
development of monitoring and management tools.
Kevin C. Almeroth earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the
Georgia Institute of Technology.
