Who is Khashayar Karimian?
Khashayar Karimian, born February 12, 1949 in Tehran, is an Iranian-Canadian biochemist, researcher and inventor. He received his B.Sc. and Ph.D. from Louisiana State University and joined the Faculty of the Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics of the University of Tehran in 1977. In 1986 he immigrated to Canada, where he was Lecturer and Visiting Professor at the Department of Chemistry of the University of Toronto until 1989. He then joined the pharmaceutical industry, where he has been serving in various executive positions. He has numerous US and international patents in drug discovery and development and has published a number of scholarly articles in the areas of chemistry, bio-organic chemistry and medicinal chemistry. He has also designed and brought into operation a number of drug substance and drug manufacturing facilities in various countries, including Arasto Pharmaceutical Chemicals Inc. and Avicenna Laboratories Inc.
