Who is Larry Milbourne?

Lawrence William "Larry" Milbourne is a retired professional baseball player whose career spanned 15 seasons, 11 of which were spent in Major League Baseball with the Houston Astros, the Seattle Mariners, the New York Yankees, the Minnesota Twins, the Cleveland Indians, and the Philadelphia Phillies. Over his major league career, Milbourne primarily played second base, but on occasion played shortstop, third base, and left field. Milbourne compiled a career MLB batting average of .254 with 71 doubles, 24 triples, 11 home runs, and 184 runs batted in in 989 games played. During his playing career, Milbourne's height was listed at 6 feet and his weight was listed at 161 pounds. He was a switch hitter who threw right-handed.

Milbourne's professional baseball career began during the 1969 season in the Baltimore Orioles minor league organization. After a year hiatus from pro-ball, he joined the San Francisco Giants minor league organization in 1971, and then the California Angels organization the following season. In 1973, Milbourne signed with the St. Louis Cardinals. He made his MLB debut on April 6, 1974, with the Houston Astros, who drafted him that year in the Rule 5 draft. In 1977, the Astros traded him to the Seattle Mariners. Eventually, in 1980, the Seattle Mariners traded him to the New York Yankees. From the Yankees, Milbourne was traded to the Minnesota Twins in 1982. A few months after, the Twins traded him to the Cleveland Indians. After the 1982 season, the Indians sold him to the Philadelphia Phillies, who sold him back to the Yankees in 1983. After the 1983 season, the Yankees traded him back to the Mariners. Seattle released him following the 1984 season, and Milbourne subsequently retired.
