Who is Leandro Manuel Emede?

Leandro Manuel Emede was born in 1980 in San Isidro, an affluent northern suburb of Buenos Aires. Is a film editor and film director.

He studied Advertising and Music Video Production at the University of Southern California, School of Cinematic Arts in Los Angeles.

From 2006 to 2010 he was responsible for video production at La Sterpaia, a Bauhaus-inspired centre cum laboratory for applied arts communication, founded and headed up by Oliviero Toscani. There Emede directed TV commercials for INTER, SNAI, the Generali consumer insurance group, Mavi Jeans and No-L-Ita, among many others. In 2009 he directed WART and ANOREXIA. Storia di un’immagine. Both films went on to receive their international premiers at the Locarno Film Festival and the Miami International Film Festival, and competed for the David di Donatello Award in the short films and documentaries categories respectively. For many years Emede worked with Nicolò Cerioni, with whom he founded SUGARKANE Productions, a company that has made videos for such high-profile names as Jovanotti, Gianluca Grignani, Matteo Becucci, Luca Carboni, The Gossip, Gianna Nannini, Giusy Ferreri, L'Aura, Giorgia.
