Who is Lex Gillette?

Elexis "Lex" Gillette is a blind Paralympic athlete from North Carolina in the United States competing in T11 and F11 events.

He competed in the 2004 Summer Paralympics, where he won silver in the men's long jump F11 event. At the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing, he won a silver medal in the men's long jump F11 event and finished fifth in the men's triple jump F11; he competed in 100m and 200m sprint events but did not make finals. At the 2012 Summer Paralympics, he won a third consecutive silver long jump medal. His medal-winning jump was not his personal best. He broke the long jump world record for F11 classified athletes with a leap of 6.73 m in 2011. As of January 2013 his record still stands.

He went to high school at Athens Drive High School and college at East Carolina University.
