Lily L. Allen was an important author of the time.
Allen was born to John Oram and Jane Oram at Newport, County Mayo, Ireland on 30 December 1867. She was the wife of fellow writer James Allen, of Ilfracombe.
Allen died at Ilfracombe, England on 14 February 1952, aged 84. The books of both the Allens are still available from their American publisher Sun Books / Sun Publishing Company.
