Who was Lloyd Tilghman?
Lloyd Tilghman was a railroad construction engineer and a Confederate general in the American Civil War, killed at the Battle of Champion Hill. Tilghman is unfortunately remembered for a discredited defense of Fort Henry, Tennessee, in 1862.
