Who is Lois Trochtop?

Senator Lois Tochtrop is a Registered Nurse who holds a BS in Nursing and Healthcare Management. She has served as a caregiver in both hospitals and nursing homes. Prior to her first election to the state legislature, she served as Director of Nursing at a long-term care facility specializing in the care of clients with behavioral problems. She now serves as a long-term care nursing consultant during the legislative interim. Lois served in the Colorado House of Representatives from House District 34 starting in 1998 and was elected to the Senate in 2004. This year her peers elected Lois Assistant Majority Leader of the Senate. Lois continues to work diligently to find a means of providing affordable, quality, accessible health care for the 750,000 Colorado residents who have no health insurance and have limited access to health care.
