Who is Lok Nath Mahato?
Loknath Mahato is a Member of Legislative Assembly in the state of Jharkhand, India, elected from constituency Barka-gaon which is in the Hazaribagh district of the state. He was first elected in 1995. Since then he has been re-elected every time, representing the Bharatiya Janata Party, one of the main national parties of India. He is one of the contenders in the 12 December 2009 state election. Results are due within three weeks of the election.
He is also popular partly thanks to his wife Muliya Devi who is self-employed as an independent grocer, something uncommon in present day India for a wife of high-profile figure.
