Who was Lorenzo Odone?
Lorenzo Michael Murphy Odone was an Italian-American adrenoleukodystrophy patient whose parents, Augusto and Michaela Odone, sought a treatment for the disease and invented Lorenzo's oil.
He was also the subject of the 1992 film Lorenzo's Oil which starred Nick Nolte and Susan Sarandon. Additionally, Phil Collins translated a poem written by Michaela to Lorenzo to music for the song "Lorenzo" in his 1996 album Dance into the Light.
