Lorna Muirhead

Who is Lorna Muirhead?

Dame Lorna Elizabeth Muirhead, DBE, DL, SRN, CStJ, FRCOG is a past President of the Royal College of Midwives and, since 2006, the current Lord Lieutenant of Merseyside.

In 1992 she became a member of the Council of the Royal College of Midwives and, in 1997, was elected as President. She served two terms of office, until 2004. Throughout this time she continued to work as a clinical midwife.
