Who was Louis Thomas McFadden?
Louis Thomas McFadden was a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives from Pennsylvania, serving from 1923 to 1935. A banker by trade, he was an opponent of the Federal Reserve system, and was the chief sponsor of the McFadden Act of 1927 which limited federal branch banks to the city in which the main branch operates. He attempted to impeach President Herbert Hoover in a move that was overwhelmingly rejected.
