Who is Lycias?

Lycias was an Athenian orator, who flourished in the 4th century BCE. He assisted in the expulsion of the Thirty Tyrants, and distributed among the citizens his large fortune which the Tyrants had confiscated.

When Dionysios of Syracuse sent a delegation to the Olympic games in c386BC, Lysias held an oration, in which he attacked Dionysius. The speech incited the listeners to such an extend, that they destroyed the tents of the Syracusian delegation.
