Who is Lyn Breuer?
Lynette Ruth "Lyn" Breuer, Australian politician, represents the electoral district of Giles in the South Australian House of Assembly for the Australian Labor Party. Breuer became the first woman to be appointed Speaker of the South Australian House of Assembly following the 2010 election.
Before entering Parliament at the 1997 election, Breuer was a lecturer in Women’s Studies and Vocational Education at the Spencer Institute of TAFE. She was Junior Vice President of the Australian Labor Party.
Breuer is the only Labor member of the House of Assembly who represents a state electorate in country South Australia.
Breuer is not re-contesting her seat at the 2014 election.
