Lynn R. Carson is a Latter-day Saint composer and hymnwriter. He also served for several years as the director of Asian, Indian and Middle-Eastern genealogical record-gathering and oral family history projects for the Family History Library of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Carson served as a missionary for the church in Austria.
The music to the hymns "In Fasting We Approach Thee" and "Sabbath Day" is by Carson.
Carson also wrote the book The Tintic War and the Deaths of George and Washington Carson.
