Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Mahmoud Hassani Sorkhi is an Iraqi Twelver Shi'a Marja.
He has studied in seminaries of Najaf, Iraq under Grand Ayatollah Mohammad Mohammad Sadeq al-Sadr and Ali al-Sistani. He is the youngest living man commonly accorded the status of Grand Ayatollah, and is the only one under the age of fifty.
