Who is Maria João Koehler?

Maria João Koehler, also known as Maria João Köhler is a Portuguese professional tennis player. She reached her career high WTA singles ranking of 102 on February 2013. In November 2012, she became for the first time the Portuguese no. 1 tennis player. Her recent doubles results at ITF level have led her to became the highest ranked Portuguese female doubles player ever, achieving the 151st position on June 2012. Koehler has represented the Portugal Fed Cup team, where she has a singles win-loss record of 3–5 and a doubles win–loss record of 4–4. She is coached by former professional player Nuno Marques.
