Who is Marinus Dijkhuizen?
Marinus Dijkhuizen is a Dutch football manager and former player who is currently the manager of Dutch Eerste Divisie side Excelsior.
Dijkhuizen made his professional debut on August 27, 1994 for Excelsior Rotterdam in a game against AZ Alkmaar. The striker has also played for FC Utrecht, TOP Oss and Dunfermline in Scotland, where he scored twice against Dundee United in the league and St Johnstone in the Scottish Cup.
He started his career as a coach at the place where he started his footballing career: 's-Gravenzandse SV. In 2009 he started as a manager for Dutch non-league club vv Montfoort. After three seasons he left for vv De Meern in 2012. From January 1, 2014, he is back as a manager at the club where his professional career started, Excelsior. He has taken over from Jon Dahl Tomasson, who left for Eredivisie side Roda JC Kerkrade.
