Who was Matthew Robert Duncan?
Matthew Robert Duncan was a Conservative member of the Canadian House of Commons. He was born in Owen Sound, Canada West and became a merchant.
Duncan attended high school at Owen Sound. He became president of Owen Sound Cereal Mills Ltd. He served in Owen Sound municipal politics as an alderman for eleven years and in 1905 and 1906 was the city's mayor.
He was first elected to Parliament at the Grey North riding in the 1921 general election and re-elected in 1925. In the 1926 election he was defeated by William Pattison Telford, Jr. of the Liberals.
