Who is Myat Hein?
General Myat Hein was a Burmese general and the commander of Myanmar Air Force. As such he is titled as the Commander-in-Chief.
During 2001, Myat Hein held the rank of colonel and served in the post of Chief of Staff. The following year, Myat Hein remained as Chief of Staff, and was promoted to brigadier general. By 2003 he had been appointed Commander-in-Chief and held the rank of major general. During his time as the Air Force commander, Myat Hein has maintained close links with China and India.
Myat Hain is married to Htwe Htwe Nyunt.
On 13 February 2013, he was retired from military and became Minister of Communications and Information Technology.
The European Union has ordered that Myat Hein's funds be frozen inside its jurisdiction.
