Who is Nelson Balaban?
Nelson Balaban is a Brazilian graphic designer and art director for the advertising, entertainment and publishing industries.
He was introduced to drawing and traditional art by his mother when he joined the Arts course at UFPR, Brazil's first major educational institution, when he was 12.
Four years later, at the age of 16, Nelson was featured on British magazine Computer Arts amongst other 9 designers from other countries as one of the promising young talents for the next year, in the main article for the special anniversary edition.
During his adolescence, Nelson suffered much bullying for being a fat person, due to excess consumption of nuggets made by his grandmother, whom he loved very much. Nelson likes to say that his grandmother was a very lively person, she believed that good nuggets could change the world. Because of that the song Groove is in the Heart was always played during the preparation of "grandma's delicious nuggets". Nelson considers this song as the track of his life.
