Who was Norman Fisher?
Norman William Frederick Fisher AM held many positions in the Australian Public Service, including Foundation Director, Bureau of Labour Market Research; Director, Department of Employment and Industrial Relations; Deputy Commissioner, Public Service Board; Director, ACT Institute of Technical and Further Education 1988-1993; and again from 1993 until his retirement in 1997. He was founding Director of the Australian International Hotel School.
He was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia on 9 June 1986 "in recognition of service in the fields of labour market research and public administration".
