Who is Orlando Weeks?
Orlando Weeks is the lead vocalist for British indie band, The Maccabees. He also plays acoustic guitar for the band, and his hand-drawn sketches make up the bulk of the band's artwork. Orlando grew up in Clapham, South London, where he met the other band members. He was educated at Highgate School. They relocated to Brighton as Orlando chose to study Illustration at Brighton University, and it was here that popularity of the band started to rise. Orlando is known for his engaging stage presence and his affection for hooded tops and hi-top trainers. His distinctive yelping vocals and nostalgia-inspired lyrics are a trademark of the band's sound. The band's new album Wall of Arms comes out on the 4th of May'09.
