Who is Orlando Wells?

Orlando Wells is a British writer and actor.

His first play, The Tin Horizon, was produced at Theatre 503 in Battersea in 2009 of which Michael Billington wrote, 'a play that proves Wells has a gift for gothic futurism... a name to watch... shows a wild imagination at work and displays unmistakable signs of talent.'

His second play, The Woodcutter's Tale, is slated for production in 2013 and he is working on an adaptation of Patrick Hamilton's The Duke In Darkness for the Tabard Theatre, Chiswick.

Shrike, a thirty-minute short film was longlisted for Channel 4's Coming Up. He has written several episodes for the children's animation programmes: Xolight! and Noksu.

As an actor, Wells is best known for starring as Alex Stanton in the Channel 4 drama, As If, and playing Irwin in Alan Bennett's The History Boys. He is currently appearing in Rebecca Lenkiewicz's adaptation of The Turn of Screw at the Almeida Theatre.

He is the son of actress Susannah York and Michael Wells, and is married with four children.
