Who is Pulimamidi Rabindra Reddy?

Rabindra Reddy or Rabindra as he is fondly called, is a professor emeritus in the Department of Chemistry, Osmania University, India. Born in Bhongir proper of Nalgonda district in Andhra Pradesh, he rose to the level of eminent teacher and scientist with his hard work and dedication. With his vast experience in teaching and research both in India and abroad, including at Harvard University US, he has made a significant contribution to the cause of higher education in the country and in particular Andhra Pradesh.

He is a firm believer in the concept that teaching and research should go together with good administration in the universities, which are training centers for Human Resources, to achieve their mission objectives. His more than 35 years of service in Osmania University is an endeavor in this direction. His contribution in the area of teaching, research and administration has been well recognized.

Rabindra is well known among the students and teaching community as an innovative teacher. He is an invited speaker for Academic Staff colleges of several universities in India. He is responsible for starting new need based courses in the University.

He has played an important role in the design of new curricula, both at the state and country level as a member of the UGC panel. As a chairman subject committee of Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh, he was responsible for the rationalization of intermediate syllabi and the design of flawless question paper and blue print models.
