Who is Qasim Sultan Al Banna?
Qasim Sultan al-Banna has been director general of Dubai Municipality since 1992. He was educated until 10th standard in Dubai schools and started his career as a land surveyor in Dubai in 1958 until his retirement in 2006. He rose up the ranks in engineering and administrative fields until he was promoted to assistant director general. He then took over all infrastructure development in Dubai and was a key figure in the establishment in the new government revenue outlook.
He is also a key sports figure as he is the president of al Ahli club and the head of the UAE basketball association.
