Who is BK Garudachar?
Rao Bahadur Lokasevasakta BK Garudachar is one of the leading scions of the iyengar Sri Vaishnava community from the late 19th century through mid 20th century. He was one of the founding members of Mysore Bank, and a philanthropist setting up the Thulasithota Prasanna Krishnaswamy temple and a free hostel in the temple premises. Even today the temple is managed by his family members. He was responsible for the renovation and upkeep of the Bindiganavele Vainatheya temple which is the main family deity amongst Hebbar Iyengars.
