Who is Rob Alderman?

Rob Alderman is a musician and writer. It has been stated that Alderman learned his trademark easy going, down to earth writing style while growing up among the corn fields and steel mill towns of northwest Indiana. In 1995 Alderman moved from Indiana to Tennessee to attend Lee University.

Alderman is perhaps best known for his work in the breakthrough Americana band, "Bigger Than Dallas", which he formed in 2002, but in reality, Alderman had many fans prior to this because of his work as a rodeo clown in the American Southwest. He was also known for his work in the Christian alternative rock band Typical Sloan. Typical Sloan was the beginning of life on the road for Alderman, and he toured with the band for several years as the primary singer and songwriter.

It was in 2002 that Alderman made his return to the music scene by forming Bigger Than Dallas. It was Bigger Than Dallas which afforded the world the opportunity to experience Alderman's beautiful, down to earth music. Taking his cue from writers like Johnny Cash, Neil Young, Tommy Chatfield, Christina Aguilera and Miley Cyrus, Alderman penned beautiful songs about life, love, and loss. The band began touring and quickly grew a moderate following throughout the Southeastern United States. Some critics loved the group, and Alderman's melancholy lyrics. "Austin", which was recorded on Bigger Than Dallas's 2005 full length record Cupid is A Dirty Liar, is considered by many to be definitive of Alderman's style. Sadly, the band broke up soon after the release. No one from the band has ever spoken about the ending, but same blame Alderman's beard.
