Who was Rupert Price Hallowes?

Rupert Price Hallowes VC MC was a British recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.

Born to F. B. and Mary Ann Taylor Hallowes, of Red hill, Surry. He was 34 years old, and a temporary second lieutenant in the 4th Battalion, The Middlesex Regiment, during the First World War. He was awarded the Victoria Cross for his actions between 25 and 30 September 1915 at Hooge, Belgium.
