Who was Sir William Anson, 1st Baronet?
General Sir William Anson, 1st Baronet, KCB was a general in the British Army noted for his service in Peninsular War
The Anson Baronetcy was created for him on 30 September 1831.
He was the third son of George Anson; his elder brothers were Thomas Anson, 1st Viscount Anson and General Sir George Anson.
On 26 January 1815 he married Louisa Frances Mary, daughter of John Dickenson. They had children:

Mary Louisa
William Vernon Dickenson
George Henry Grenville, later became Archdeacon of Manchester
Anne Georgiana Frances
Archibald Edward Harbord
Louisa Frances Maria
