Who is Sophia A. Nelson?

Sophia A. Nelson is an American author, political strategist, opinion writer, and attorney. She was born in Munich, Germany and grew up in Somerdale, New Jersey. Graduating from San Diego State University, she was the first African-American woman elected to a major position in the Student Body. She originally wanted to be the first Black female Supreme Court Justice, but decided to pursue her passion as a freelance writer instead. Nelson is an attorney and a member of the Republican Party.
