Who is Terryl Whitlatch?
Terryl Anne Whitlatch is an American scientific and academically trained illustrator, known for her creature designs for Lucasfilm and her illustrations in the Katurran Odyssey book, among others.
Whitlatch grew up in the East Bay, in the San Francisco area. She attended Sonoma State University where she studied zoology, and later transferred to Academy of Art University in San Francisco, where she graduated. While there, she did freelance work for LucasArts on the graphic adventure game The Dig, for which she designed several alien creatures.
Whitlatch currently lives in San Francisco, where she works as a freelance concept artist. She has also joined the faculty at the Academy of Art University, where she teaches illustration and animation classes.
Terryl is also known for creating most of the creatures in Star Wars: Episode 1, including Jar-Jar Binks.
