Who is Thecla of Kitzingen?
Saint Thecla of Kitzingen was a Benedictine nun and abbess. Born in southern Britain, Thecla was a relative of Saint Lioba. A nun of Wimborne in Dorset, Thecla was sent by her abbess, Tetta, to Germany. Her mission was to assist St. Boniface in his missionary work there.
Thecla became a nun under Lioba at Tauberbischofsheim. Later, Thecla became abbess of Ochsenfurt. She subsequently became abbess of Kitzingen.
