Who was Thomas G. Barnes?

Thomas G. Barnes was an American creationist, who argued in support of his religious belief in a young earth with claims that the Earth's magnetic field was consistently decaying and that Einstein's theory of relativity was incorrect. He believed that his arguments were strong enough to cast into doubt the measured age of the Earth and timescales required for evolution, but only found support for his ideas among fellow creationists.
