Who is Thomas Meaney?

Thomas Meaney is a former Irish Fianna Fáil politician and farmer. His father Con Meaney was also a Fianna Fáil Teachta Dála. When his father retired at the 1965 general election, Thomas Meaney succeeded him as a Fianna Fáil Teachta Dála for the Cork Mid constituency. He was re-elected at every subsequent general election until his retirement from politics at the November 1982 general election. He served as a Minister of State at the Department of Industry, Commerce and Energy from 1980–81.
