Thomas W. Wälde, former United Nations Inter-regional Adviser on Petroleum and Mineral Legislation, was Professor & Jean-Monnet Chair at the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy, Dundee.

Thomas Wälde died on October 11, 2008 in the south of France.

He was a frequent expert, but also counsel, mediator and arbitrator in international energy and investment disputes.
