Who was Tilly Walker?
Clarence William "Tilly" Walker was an American left and center fielder in Major League Baseball from 1911 to 1923. Born in Telford, Tennessee, Walker hit .281, and he was one of the first power hitters, slugging 17 home runs in 1920, 23 in 1921, and 37 in 1922. For a time he was among the top ten lifetime home run leaders. He died at age 72 in Unicoi, Tennessee.
