Who is Tim O'Connor?

Tim O'Connor is an Australian theatre-maker and motivational speaker. Since 2004, he has been the Artistic Director of the Harvest Rain Theatre Company.

He is most well known for directing Australian productions of musicals such as Jesus Christ Superstar, Hairspray, The Wizard of Oz, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, as well as for writing, directing, and producing the world premiere stage adaptation of The Neverending Story.

As the host of Behind the Red Curtain, he has interviewed musical theatre stars including Kristin Chenoweth, Shoshana Bean, Scott Alan, Simon Gallaher, Lisa McCune, Nancye Hayes, Rhonda Burchmore, and more.

In 2013, he made history when he announced that the Harvest Rain Theatre Company would become Queensland's first professional musical theatre company, producing a season of musicals including Guys and Dolls starring Daryl Somers and Ian Stenlake, Spamalot starring Jon English, Simon Gallaher, and Julie Anthony, and an arena production of Cats starring Marina Prior and featuring over 500 performers on stage.
