Who is Tim Whetstone?
Timothy John "Tim" Whetstone is an Australian politician representing the seat of Chaffey in the South Australian House of Assembly for the Liberal Party since the 2010 election.
Whetstone started work as a fitter and turner at Holdens after school and worked his way up to be a Project Manager in the Moomba gas fields while developing his own business building and restoring muscle cars and boats. He moved to the Riverland in 1989 where he started his citrus and wine grape business. Whetstone was elected to the board of the Renmark Irrigation Trust in 1998.
Whetstone contested the seat of Chaffey at the state election for the Liberal Party, receiving a 20 percent two-candidate swing from incumbent Nationals MP Karlene Maywald, to finish with 53.8 percent of the vote.
