Who is Túlio Maravilha?

Túlio Humberto Pereira Costa, sometimes simply referred as Túlio or Túlio Maravilha for his great creativity on the field and for his charisma, is a Brazilian international football forward. He has scored more than 900 goals and intends to score the 1000th with Botafogo. He was also elected a member of his hometown municipal assembly. He was born in Goiânia and is a member of PMDB.

Túlio Costa stands at 1.78 meters tall, played for Brazilian club teams such as Goiás, Botafogo, Corinthians, Vitória, Fluminense, Cruzeiro and Vila Nova. In Europe, he played for Sion and Újpest. He played for several lower-division teams in Brazil, hoping to juggle his goal of scoring 1000 goals while fulfilling his political aspirations.

While at Botafogo, he won the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A in 1995, the Teresa Herrera Trophy in 1996, and Torneio Rio-São Paulo in 1998 having Bebeto as a partner in the attack. Tulio's best years were while he was at Botafogo, where he was twice the Brazilian top scorer and the Brazilian champion in 1995. His image will be forever associated with Botafogo, where he plans to return to score goal number 1000 and become one of only three players in history to score a thousand goals or more. In 2006, a special edition of Placar magazine, "Meu Time dos Sonhos", Tulio was elected for the Botafogo's best line-up of all time by some famous supporters along with idols like Garrincha and Nilton Santos.
