Who is Vasile Andrei?

Vasile Andrei is a Romanian wrestler and Olympic Champion in Greco-Roman wrestling. He won a bronze medal at the 1980 Summer Olympics and a gold medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics in the heavyweight class. In 1984 he also finished in sixth place in the super-heavyweight category. He competed in 1988 but failed to score. He was the flag bearer for Romania at the 1980 and 1988 Games.

Between 1979 and 1987 he won six medals at the world and European championships.
