Who was Viktor Tsybulenko?
Viktor Sergeevich Tsybulenko was a Ukrainian athlete who competed mainly in the javelin throw for the Soviet Union, training at the Armed Forces sports society in Kiev.
Tsybulenko was born in the village of Veprik, Fastiv Raion, Kiev Oblast. He competed for the USSR in the 1952 Summer Olympics held in Helsinki and came 4th in the javelin throw, in the 1956 Summer Olympics held in Melbourne, Australia he won the bronze medal. He returned four years later to Rome, Italy where he finally took the gold medal.
He was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labour and the Order of the Badge of Honor.
