Who was Walenty Wańkowicz?
Walenty Wańkowicz, February 14, 1799 in Kalyuzhytsa, Russian Empire - May 12, 1842 in Paris, France was a Polish painter.
He studied at the Polatsk Jesuit College, the University of Vilno and the St Petersburg Academy of Arts.
He produced, among other things, a well-known portrait of Adam Mickiewicz.
The Wańkowicz House, the former mansion of the Wańkowicz family, is now a museum in the historical part of Minsk.
