Who is Wanda Koop?

Wanda Koop, CM is a painter who lives and works in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. She was born in 1951 in Vancouver, B.C., Canada, and graduated in 1973 from the Lemoine Fitzgerald School of Art, University of Manitoba, Winnipeg. She was made a Member of the Order of Canada in 2005. She was made a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts. From February 18 to May 15, 2011 her solo exhibition entitled On The Edge Of Experience was shown at the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa, Ontario.

In addition to her art, Wanda is an ardent community activist. In 1998 she founded Art City, a community art centre in Winnipeg's West Broadway neighbourhood.
